Information:
Wisps are aliens from another world. A power energy called Hyper-Go-Ons fills them and serves as their life force.
This energy can either be forcibly extracted by machines or temporarily absorbed by another when a wisp allows itself to be absorbed by another.

Each type of wisp is a different color and thus has a different type of Hyper-Go-On energy. When Sonic uses this power it transforms him into a different shape.

Green wisps look tiny ships with an eye where the front window would be. These Wii-exclusive wisps transform Sonic into a hovercraft shape which allows him to slowly ascend through the level. He can also use light-speed dash to go through a stream of rings in this form. This allows Sonic to reach very high places normally unreachable.
