Information:
Wisps are aliens from another world. A power energy called Hyper-Go-Ons fills them and serves as their life force.
This energy can either be forcibly extracted by machines or temporarily absorbed by another when a wisp allows itself to be absorbed by another.

Each type of wisp is a different color and thus has a different type of Hyper-Go-On energy. When Sonic uses this power it transforms him into a different shape.

Orange wisps are long with two eyes one above the other. As it's appearance suggests, it transforms Sonic into a rocket. This rocket will blast into the air at ultra high speeds allowing Sonic to reach extreme heights only to come slowly back down to the ground. The slow descend allows Sonic to pick up streams of rings easily and avoid obstacles.
